The pieces don’t tell a story, they offer a new wardrobe that is easy to mix with old and new promoting personal style above a “fashion uniform.”

VETEMENTS is inspired by a masculine wardrobe where tailoring is always the focal point. At the core of the brand is the research between the clothes, the body and the attitude of the wearer and street style is often referred in the collections resulting in exaggerated proportions, contrasting silhouettes and authentic materials. Ultimately, the design approach is to create clothes that are clothes appreciated for its unique creative and technical qualities.

VETEMENTS is founded by Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium graduate, Demna Gvasalia. After a seven-year stint at Maison Martin Margiela and Louis Vuitton, Gvasalia was toying with the idea of creating an innovative collective of friends and former colleagues that would focus on designing clothes they themselves wanted to wear.

He carefully picked his team and launched a collection of 27 looks in March 2014, which was sold to 44 stockists around the world. His second collection was launched with a show during Paris Fashion Week. It received rave reviews from the likes of Style.com, DazedDigital and NowFashion.

VETEMENTS gives the wearer an endless amount of style choices by being easy to mix with other brands and styles. The brand is broadly positioned within the high-end and luxury market.
