DALLAS, Apr 12, 2008 / FWN / — The phrase ‘fashion windows’ is a visual merchandising term that refers to store windows that display fashion items. First conceived as a visual merchandising site, FashionWindows morphed to a fashion website as a natural progression.

With www.fashionwindows.com continuing to evolve in the realm of fashion and retail, www.fashionwindows.org is taking an alternative route of bringing Milan Westin, Imadge Mekker and The Napster, three fictional characters living in the real world of fashion.

With the moniker, ‘Life is a Catwalk,’ Milan, Imadge and Napster take you to the world’s fashion capitals with stopovers in-between as they regale you with first person accounts of their experiences.

Milan Westin

Contrary to popular belief, Milan Westin is NOT a hotel heiress. Born in Redmond, Washington but grew up in San Francisco, California; Milan is a Silicon Valley royalty, courtesy of both her parents.

Milan’s father, Mackenzie Westin graduated from the University of California Berkeley and one of the original software engineers who worked with Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak at Apple. Milan’s mother, Paige Beck is originally from Dallas, Texas and went to high school with Melinda Gates at the Ursuline Academy. Paige Beck Westin worked for Microsoft even before Melinda French Gates met her future husband. Currently, the Westins run their own software company that specializes in wireless applications.

Imadge Mekker

French by birth, Imadge Mekker’s real name is Madeleine Fonteray. A whiz kid by any standards, she totally her changed her personality from a mousy lab rat to a high fashion downtown girl. The androgynous Imadge Mekker is actually a play on ‘image maker’ that pertained to her 180-degree personality change.

Napoleon Wozniak

No, he is not related to Apple’s Steve Wozniak. They just share the same last name. He is not called The Woz either. He is known among the photographer’s community as The Napster or Napster because he has the knack of being able to catnap while waiting at the pit for the runway show to start.
