The Power of Three Plus One

Private plane or not, jet lag is a killer. I am tired but I’m awake because I’m still on London time. So here I am watching the Damages marathon on TV while the girls are watching a rerun of the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics online.

Damages TV series

Damages TV series

Quite frankly, I did not see any of the episodes of Damages during the regular season, yet watching it right now; I could see why Glenn Close won Best Actress in a Television Drama series at the Golden Globes. The series itself and other cast members have been nominated for the Emmys too.

Dubbed as a ‘legal chiller,’ the story revolves around Patty Hewes, a Manhattan lawyer who specializes in corporate malfeasance. In an Enron-esque scenario, Patty Hewes played by Glenn Close goes after multi-billionaire Arthur Frobisher played by Ted Danson.

If that was just the plot, I could just watch Cspan and be bored with all the legalese being spoken. But, the story begun in the end, a young woman covered in blood running, her fiancé lying dead in the bathtub. The series made time travel possible, and it is not sci-fi!

I was hooked from the first episode and I found myself watching every episode to the point that I even recruited Milan and Imadge to watch it with me later during the day. And, of course, Maggie came with the girls.

Maggie might have been with us for less than three days but she had already changed our routine. A schedule was set up to take Maggie out for walks and her potty training. Somehow, as Maggie seeing sleep on my lap was so natural.
