Why I Love CSI Miami

David Caruso

David Caruso

Because Milan started this season finale thing, now, I feel compelled to write one also. Since I am fan of all three CSI franchise, let me just say that Horatio Caine (played by David Caruso) lying on the pavement of an airport and the camera looking through his broken shades is very dramatic but does not hit you in the chest the way Warrick Brown slumped on the wheel of his car did at CSI: Crime Scene Investigations.

Of course, David Caruso is staying with the show, so as fans, we know that he will survive. It is just a matter of how the writers will bring him back from the dead, which is always exciting and more than just interesting.

Something that my father (yes, he is also a big CSI Miami fan, though not of the other two) told me after the show was that Horatio Caine was called ‘Red’ by one of the characters. My father said that in the old NYPD Blue series, Horatio Caine’s character was called ‘Red’ because of his red hair.

Talking with my father about ‘Horatio Caine’ (the character, not the actor) felt strange for me. One of the reasons why I like watching CSI: Miami is because ‘H’ reminds me of my father. Like Lt. Caine who is very easy to talk to, my father makes everyone feel at ease during the first minute of the conversation.

You what’s funny? Because of my father’s job, his firm actually represents entertainers from actors to entertainers. I wonder if my father’s firm represents anyone from the CSI franchise.
