Three’s Company
Finally, all three of us are together. Napster might have stayed here only for three days before going off on his trip, but he is part of our little family and now all of us are home. OMG! I have become my mother. I’m even saying the exact things she says when my father arrives home from his trip. ‘All three of us are together.’
It is actually nice to have a man around the house. Now, I’m beginning to understand my mother when she says it was better when my father was home. Aside from the traditional ‘that’s a job for a man’ like putting in our window air conditioners, Napster also balances Milan’s and my feminist point of view.
And, playing all those video games with Napster around was more rambunctious. Milan and I play, but aside from feeling good about winning, there were no high fives or laughter. With Napster, Milan and I could let go of our feelings and just enjoy the game.
While Napster is easy to read, Milan is more complicated than she lets on. Yes, she’s 16 and she wants to get away from home and just be herself. Yet, since she has been here, she just worked on her computer. If I did not make her go out, she would just stay here, happy as a clam writing software.
With Napster here, Milan seems to get out of her shell. The three of us even went to the Imax to see a movie together, even had dinner simply because we did not want to end the night yet.
