The Big Bang Theory
I feel like Penny in the TV sitcom The Big Bang Theory, starring Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco as Penny. The series is about two socially inept prodigies, theoretical physicists at Caltech, in their 20s who are living across the hall from a beautiful, socially adept girl who does not share their level of intellect.

Yet, my home situation is in reverse. I’m the guy and I am the one who has the average intellect. My roommates Milan and Imadge are both socially adept while I am actually the introvert and truth be told, I cannot even talk to girls.
I have an average IQ and a college drop out, while my two roommates, two very beautiful girls have post graduate studies from MIT and Stanford. Now, what’s a guy gotta do?
First, I was so shocked to find out that Milan is actually my new roommate after ogling at her at The Galleria Dallas skating rink. And, that is something she does not need to know.
Second, I was actually surprise that Imadge is French. She spoke with a perfect Northeastern accent; I did not make the connection until the two girls started speaking French. As it turns out, all three of us are fluent in English, French and Italian.
Actually, it was my language skills that impressed my roommates. I might be an average guy but I speak half a dozen languages plus about the same number of dead languages that include Latin. Thanks to my parents who are both archeologists, I was exposed to different languages as a child and I picked them up fast.
Speaking of my parents, I will see them in a couple of days. I’m leaving for Australia tomorrow and I can’t wait to see their faces when I tell them about my roommates.
