We dress up with him, we walk with him, we even sleep with him. Now, Giorgio Armani wants us to watch television with him. During the International Furniture Fair in Milan last week, the Italian design maestro, in collaboration with Samsung unveiled a co-branded HDTV.

The set, which was displayed in 46 and 52-inch screens features 1080 resolution, 100Hz technology and of course the Samsung and Giorgio Armani logos shown via a special 4-mode lighted power switch.

So, should I buy one of these so that I can say I have an Armani television to match my Armani slacks? Question is, will it help be get better shows on television. Oh, programming is by the network, not the designer.

This is not the first time that the Italian couturier had collaborated with Samsung. The Korean company is Giorgio Armani’s partner for his mobile phone.

I can understand designer clothes. I can even understand designer mobile phones. But, a designer TV; do I really need an Armani television set?
